NARS Douceur review

Friday, 7 February 2014

NARS Douceur – £21.50 4.5g. Colour: Soft pink-brown.
(Sorry - another post from my old blog). I'm trying to salvage old posts that I really loved from my old blog, and go from there with new content added too.
Time to review on of my most reached for blushers in my collection. NARS Douceur is what I reach for almost every day, it’s a gorgeous pinky brown that works as both a blush and a contour that really highlights the cheekbones. It’s very muted and neutral so it never looks jarring when paired with a bold lip or eye. It’s one of the less pigmented NARS blushes I have in my collection and although usually that would knock off brownie points it means that applying it is practically foolproof. Even on mornings where I’ve gotten a bit heavy handed my blush never looks overdone. However, the lack of pigmentation means for darker skin tones this probably wont show up.
As always, the formula of the blush cannot be faulted. It’s finely milled and disperses nicely on the cheeks. The packaging is typical NARS – a black matte rubberised texture that clearly reflects how well loved a product is!

What do you think of NARS Douceur? I hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday!

Interest in Pinterest #2

Wednesday, 5 February 2014

 (Source: http://twomillionmiles.wordpress.com/2012/11/30/833/).

I'm quite enjoying sporadically sharing interesting and helpful pins I've been coming across recently. They're not always going to be blogging related, but as I've only recently been re-introduced to blogging reading helpful guides like these are motivating me to blog more. Jourdan's blogging tips for new blogger are also things that even people with years of experience could learn from. Especially getting a 'pin it' button installed onto your blog, that's something I myself have only recently installed as Pinterest seems to be growing in popularity recently.

Aileen's advice on working with companies was also an interesting read. Whilst I don't think I am at the stage yet where companies are flocking to collaborate with me, I'll definitely bear the tips in mind a few months (or years!)  down the line when I'm a bit more established. I especially need to take tip number five into consideration and be more prompt with answering emails - I feel so terrible about leaving them and they're always on my mind to answer but sometimes it's difficult to find the time.

Have you come across any interesting pins on Pinterest yet?  I'd love to take a peek!

Orange and Apple Smoothie recipe

Monday, 3 February 2014

What you'll need:
2 medium apples
1 large orange
Runny honey
Spoonful of greek yoghurt
Handful of sunflower seeds
ice cubes

Happy Monday everyone. I hope that you had a lovely weekend. I'm currently resting at home as I'm coming down with a flu bug that started on Thursday. A heavy dose of Vitamin C is definitely in order and I also made a resolution to be a bit healthier, so I decided to concoct an apple and orange smoothie as eating oranges in bed gets messy! The honey helps with the dry cough I have and the Greek yoghurt satisfies my dairy cravings. I also added some sunflower seeds to make it extra healthy as they're loaded with anti-oxidants. Wham it in the blender and in a few minutes it's done!  Here's to hoping I'll be better by tomorrow ;).

Do you regularly make smoothies? I'm aiming for one a day so I'd love it if you had any recipes to share.
